The Shelter for Abused Women & Children works to help adult and child victims and survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking through safety, intervention, and support. Services provided by the Shelter include 24-hour crisis counseling, an emergency safe shelter, a counseling center, a transitional living program, support groups, children’s services, direct assistance, and court and legal services.

The Shelter is a 501(c)3 nonprofit/charitable organization that works diligently to consistently and effectively execute our goals to prevent violence before it begins, to protect victims of family abuse and to prevail over violence in our homes and community. This year, for the 11th consecutive year, The Shelter for Abused Women & Children earned Charity Navigator’s four-star rating, an accomplishment only attained by 2% of the charities evaluated by Charity Navigator. READ FULL LETTER

As Collier County’s only certified domestic violence center, The Shelter is leading the community to prevent, protect and prevail over domestic violence and human trafficking through advocacy, empowerment and social change. The Shelter operates on a fiscal year, July 1-June 30. New audits are posted as soon as they become available.
