Participants take part in Candlelight Vigil and Stone Release

CANDLELIGHT VIGIL

As part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Shelter advocates held a candlelight vigil to remember victims who lost their lives to domestic violence. The annual vigil is an emotional gathering for participants.

STONE RELEASE

Shelter advocates also organized a stone release was for children participants. The children painted the stones with their own powerful words, messages or pictures that help them release pain or feelings from the abuse they have endured or witnessed. The stones were then “released” into a metaphorical river on the children’s playground.
