On Tuesday, December 1, The Shelter joins charities from throughout the world for Giving Tuesday. We may need to stop shaking hands, but we can still reach out in meaningful ways. We each have the power to create and share ideas of how to help, heal, and find ways to build new kinds of connection and community.
Now more than ever, the world needs everyone’s generosity to combat the feelings of fear, isolation and loneliness that we all share. It is an especially difficult time for victims of domestic violence because, in addition to these worries, home is not a safe place for them. Isolation with an abuser puts their lives at risk. Your support for The Shelter saves lives and provides hope and healing for those who are not safe at home.
In addition to giving financially, there are many acts of generosity you can do wherever you are (while still adhering to important public health guidelines)! Remember, no gift is too small. We all have something to give, and every act of human consideration and kindness matters. Let’s do some good together!
