The Shelter receives grant from Women’s Foundation of Collier County

The Shelter for Abused Women & Children is proud to announce it has received a grant from the Women’s Foundation of Collier County as part of the Foundation’s 2026 grant cycle, which awarded $385,000 to local nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting vulnerable senior women and empowering women and girls throughout Collier County.

The Shelter’s grant will support its Hotline Advocate Program, helping ensure that trained advocates are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support, and connections to critical resources for survivors of domestic violence.

“The support of the Women’s Foundation of Collier County allows us to continue providing a lifeline for survivors at the moment they need it most,” said The Shelter’s CEO Linda Oberhaus. “This investment in our Hotline Advocate Program helps ensure that every call for help is met with compassion, guidance, and hope.”

The Women’s Foundation of Collier County awarded grants to organizations whose programs address critical needs in the community, including services for vulnerable senior women and initiatives that empower women and girls. The Shelter is honored to be among this year’s recipients and grateful for the Foundation’s commitment to creating meaningful, lasting change.
