Together we will repair, restore & reopen The Shelter Options Shoppe

DECEMBER UPDATE

Since the flood damage, Options has received new drywall, epoxy flooring, fixtures, slat wall, electrical work and more as we Repair, Restore and Reopen our resale store. The restoration process has been slow, but we remain committed to taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of our customers. Reconstruction continues and is expected to be completed in January. See video update below.

Between what insurance did not cover and the loss of retail revenue, the closure cost to The Shelter is $400,000. If you would like to help offset our closure costs, please consider making a gift in honor of a loved one.

NOVEMBER UPDATE

On Nov. 4, Options received some good news — our floors are completely dry and we have passed all air quality requirements. :)

The restoration process is tedious and detailed, but we remain committed to taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of our customers. Many customers who have come to our door have been telling us how grateful they are that we are taking these measures.

Like so many businesses in the downtown area, The Shelter Options Shoppe suffered significant damage during Hurricane Ian. We are grateful for the many people who reached out offering their support.

Options was one of The Shelter’s first revenue sources and has played a significant role in our mission for over 30 years. With the help of a dedicated team of volunteers, the resale store provides gently used goods, as well as funding for life-saving services for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking.

The store is currently closed as work is underway to repair, restore & reopen, hopefully by the first of the year. As we eagerly await that day, we anticipate a revenue loss of around $400,000, based on last year’s figures.

Will you help? To make a gift of any size, use the button above. Checks can be mailed to The Shelter for Abused Women & Children, PO Box 10102, Naples, FL 34101. More information on giving is available at naplesshelter.org

Thank you for your help as we work to repair, restore and reopen our wonderful Options Shoppe!
