A New Day Promise donates bedding units to The Shelter
Knowing the importance of having a bed and a safe place to sleep, The Shelter is grateful to Celebration Community Beach Church’s A New Day Promise initiative, which recently provided five bedding units complete with sheets, blanket, pillow and big hug plush. The beds will be made available to participants when they leave the emergency shelter.
According to program organizer Athena Thompson, the goal of the program is to provide bedding needs for Collier County charities that directly aid children facing hardship or displacement, including un-adopted teens aging out of foster care system.
“Every child deserves a place of peace, recovery and rejuvenation,” Athena explained. “Through this program we hope to provide a safe, clean, private sanctuary to restore the promise of a new day.”
