The Shelter’s Clinical Counseling Program
The Shelter offers counseling to participants who have suffered severely at the hands of their abusers and need this level of support in healing.
As a society, we tend to think unstable people end up in violent relationships, but that’s not reality. The truth is that anyone, from any walk of life – any age, economic status, race, religion, nationality and educational background – can find themselves in an abusive relationship. These women, children and men suffer unthinkable daily traumas and are coming to us for help in alleviating the stress, strain and emotional aliment s caused directly by the abuse. Our services are specifically designed to address the consequences of the trauma in the individual and to facilitate healing.
