Gentle’men Against Domestic Violence

NFL Executive Vice President and former football great Troy Vincent will share his personal story of growing up in a home with domestic violence. He will share how his involvement in sports helped him turn his pain into progress and inspired his lifelong commitment to end domestic violence and sexual assault.

During his 15 years as a defensive back, Vincent played for the Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Washington Redskins and the Buffalo Bills. He has received many community and sports awards including NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year. Prior to serving as vice president of the NFL, he served as President of the NFL Players’ Association from 2004-2008.

In 2016, Vincent received the Call to Men Award for Institutional Change for his efforts to raise awareness and prevent violence against girls and women. In 2015, he received the Humanitarian Award: Voice Over Violence, for his work to build healthy relationships and communities free from sexual, domestic and interpersonal violence. He and his wife Tommi established Love Thy Neighbor CDC, a foundation dedicated to fostering positive change in young people’s lives through character, athletics and academics.

Gayle Tzemach Lemmon is foreign policy reporter out of Afghanistan and a women’s rights activist. Her best-selling books include “Ashley’s War: The Untold Story of a Team of Women Soldiers on the Special Ops Battlefield” and “The Dressmaker of Khair Khana.”

Lemmon began her career as an ABC News political journalist and served as an editorial producer during the first year of This Week with George Stephanopoulos. In 2004, she left ABC and has since covered Afghanistan politics, economy and the evolving roles of Afghan women for a number of national publications, including The New York Times, The Financial Times, Fast Company, The Christian Science Monitor and Newsweek Daily Beast.

Jennifer Hyman is CEO of Rent The Runway, a fashion and technology/logistics company that offers clothing and accessory rentals from over 500 designer brands for women via on- demand rentals and subscription. Rent the Runway’s rental subscription service is called Unlimited. Through Unlimited, customers select 3 pieces at a time and can keep each item for as long as they want or swap any item for a new selection.

Hyman leads all aspects of the business, including finance, operations, marketing, technology, product, and analytics. Rent the Runway’s employees are 70% female, including the executive team with a female CEO, COO, CPO, Head of Subscription and CFO. Hyman has spoken out publicly against sexual harassment in the tech industry and went public with her own experience in July 2017. Her passion for gender equality in entrepreneurship and tech also drove her to establish the Rent the Runway Foundation and Project Entrepreneur to help female entrepreneurs across the country gain access to the tools, training, and network they need to scale their businesses.
