The Shelter receives $15,000 grant from the Collier Community Foundation
Naples, FL – The Shelter for Abused Women & Children is pleased to announce it has received a $15,000 grant through the Collier Community Foundation for unrestricted emergency shelter expenses for FY24-25. These much-needed funds will be used for rent deposits, transportation, clothing, food and other basic needs of victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.
“We are extremely grateful to the Collier Community Foundation for this funding,” said Shelter CEO Linda Oberhaus. “Like other nonprofits, The Shelter’s budget has been hard hit over the past few years. This grant will ensure our participants have the basic resources needed to rebuild their lives as they regain self-sufficiency.”
The Collier Community Foundation awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process. Selected organizations receive grant dollars from the Foundation’s discretionary funds. These funds were gifted by donors who believe in the Community Foundation’s ability to mobilize resources to address the community’s greatest needs.
