Lowe’s volunteers lend caring hearts & helping hands

The Shelter is extremely grateful to Stephanie and all of the employee volunteers with Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores in Naples for their caring hearts and helping hands, June 11-12.

Employees of the East Trail location originally planned to do a company volunteer day to spread mulch for us, but after showing Stephanie and a store manager around The Shelter grounds, they asked us for a wish list of projects, including some things that still needed repair after Hurricane Irma. Some of the projects included mulch, painting, staining, and sprucing up our garden areas.  Stephanie took our wish list back to her team and not only did they agree to take on every project, they also enlisted the help of team members from Lowe’s North Naples location!

THANK YOU LOWE’S for:

  • Providing and spreading mulch on our whole property and our seven transitional living cottages
  • Painting the dog kennel
  • Staining our gazebos, picnic tables, chairs, and deck
  • Providing new picnic tables- including hand painted butterflies by one of the employees
  • Assembling our new storage shed
  • Planting butterfly-attracting flowers and providing a fountain and gazing ball for the Peace Garden
  • Planting shade-loving plants in the Turtle Garden

Lowe’s went above and beyond to show us how much they care. Thank you for being a great community partner!
