Congratulations to April Employee of the Month Karen Harmon and to Finance Administrator Lori Morris on her 20th Anniversary with The Shelter!

Lori joined The Shelter in February 1999 as the first staff accountant for The Shelter. Prior to that, accounting services were contracted out. When she arrived there were only 20 staff members. Today, there are over 65 employees. As to the biggest changes over the years, Lori says she is amazed by The Shelter’s growth.

“When I was hired, we were in the middle of the campaign to build the current shelter. Since that time, the growth of The Shelter and the awareness in the community has been incredible – it’s amazing to see how far we have come,” she says.

After 20 years, Lori says she loves her job and the people with whom she works.

“I love The Shelter’s mission and the people – it is like a family.”
