GULFSHORE BUSINESS: Naples Outreach and Prevention Manager Recognized in 40 Under 40

Meredith Gavin Naples Outreach and Prevention Manager at The Shelter for Abused Women and Children

From an early age, Meredith Gavin’s parents encouraged her to volunteer, give back and look for ways to make a difference in the community. Motivated by that desire to help others, Gavin now serves as the Naples outreach and prevention manager with the Shelter for Abused Women and Children.

“One of the greatest privileges of my work is being able to see firsthand how support, advocacy and opportunity can help individuals overcome challenges and thrive. When a person succeeds, the positive effects extend far beyond that individual — they strengthen families, neighborhoods and ultimately the entire community,” she says. “Every life touched, every barrier removed and every opportunity created reinforces my belief that we can always do more and reach further. Seeing people achieve goals they once thought were out of reach inspires me to continue growing, innovating and pursuing bigger solutions to community challenges.”

Away from work, Gavin serves as a local Girl Scout leader and as chairperson for Age-Friendly Collier, a collaborative effort among local nonprofits to enhance the quality of life for older adults in Southwest Florida.

Gavin also helped create the Collier County Emergency Readiness Summit, which provides residents with vital resources to stay safe during emergencies.
