The Shelter for Abused Women & Children: Gentle’men Against Domestic Violence
The Shelter for Abused Women & Children held its annual Gentle’men Against
Domestic Violence (GADV) Men’s Event at Grey Oaks Country Club on Wednesday, Jan. 14, welcoming nearly 200 men in support of The Shelter for Abused
Women & Children. GADV is an initiative of The Shelter that calls on men to
stand alongside women as equal partners in ending domestic violence and human trafficking, while helping build a community where everyone is valued and
safe. The co-chairs for this year’s event were Jim Flanagan and John Kiely.
Since its inaugural Men’s Event on Jan. 14, 2008, GADV has raised more than
$4 million to support The Shelter’s two 60-bed emergency shelters and more
than 30 outreach programs that provide safety, advocacy and life-changing
services to the families we serve.
