Morning post: Big storm passed through overnight as we slept, but it looks like we should be good as we head north today. Cooler breeze should be great for the hills! Let’s get going!! Go GADV!!
Mid-day post: For those of you following our live tracking please don’t think we stopped moving because we are slacking! Our GPS routed us on to a dirt road into the Green Swamp south of Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina. An area that regrettably has no cell service. After an hour of digging in the mud we decided to head out on foot to the state park near by where these fine rangers helped us get squared away. Tow truck will be here shortly… Then it’s time to keep rolling! Thank you Mitch Simmons and Richard Keenan for being excellent park rangers and true Gentle’men!
Evening post: Day 8 was the day we wish we could do over. Although they covered 2/3 of our route for the day, we took a wrong turn…. down a logging road -the Gentle’men got stuck! After a tow and some good luck, we are now back on the road and pushing forward, with Richmond on our minds! RIDE ON!!
Meanwhile, back at home, despite his commitment to Ride for The Shelter and bringing awareness for GADV to Washington, DC, Colin had an amazing presence at Avenue Wine Cafe “Last Call” celebration and farewell party! Yay, Colin!
