With back to school around the corner, The Shelter’s Next Generation Committee wanted give back by “Filling-a-Pack.” The Shelter’s “Give Back – Fill-a-Pack back to school drive helps to ensure that the youngest survivors of domestic violence have the supplies they need throughout the school year.

The committee adopted a family with an 11-year-old and eight-year-old and purchased school supplies, personal care items, clothing and shoes. These items will be delivered to the family before school starts.

Three Ways You Can Support The Shelter’s Back-to-School Donation Drive

  • Adopt a Student
Adopt a student and fill his or her back-to-school needs. You tell us how many students you would like to “adopt,” and we will provide a basic back-to-school list, the age, and the gender of your student(s).
  • Back-to-School Wish List
Click our Back-to-School Wish List  and host a Back-to-School drive of your own or choose something from our wish list to donate towards our goal.
  • Donate a Dollar
While you’re making a purchase at The Shelter’s Options Thrift Shoppe, be sure to donate an extra dollar to help fill our schoolhouse!

All supplies will be collected and distributed by August 1. Please drop off donations at our Options Thrift Shoppe, 968 Second Ave North, from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Saturday. For more information about granting a back-to-school wish or participating in our “Adopt-a-Student” program, please call 239-775-3862.
