CCCR honors The Shelter as Family Friendly Employer
The Shelter for Abused Women & Children received the 2019 Family Friendly Business Employer of the Year Award presented by Collier Child Care Resources, Inc., Oct. 21, at the Hilton Naples. The Shelter was honored in the nonprofit division.
Hosted by CCCR, the “Family Friendly Business“ designation recognizes local businesses that invest in workplace policies and programs that assist employees in raising their children. The designation is awarded based on a point system that calculates all the various efforts of an organization to support employees with families.
“This award is such an honor and a complete surprise,” said Shelter CEO Linda Oberhaus. “We are extremely proud of The Shelter’s team of advocates, who dedicate their lives to caring for survivors of abuse and human trafficking. We are grateful to CCCR for recognizing The Shelter’s efforts to ensure our advocates also have what they need to care for their own families.”
Keynote speaker for the event was Michael V. Martin, Ph.D., President of Gulf Coast University, who address “The importance of being family friendly and how high-quality early education and childcare affect and support the workplace.”
