2025 Domestic Violence Awareness Month Activities
According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence 1 in 4 American women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime—a statistic that surpasses the number of women affected by breast, ovarian, and lung cancer combined. Yet, more than one-third of Americans have never spoken about the issue.
This October, in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), The Shelter for Abused Women & Children is hosting a series of events to shine a light on domestic violence and human trafficking. Together, we can raise awareness, break the silence, and work toward a future free from violence.
