NextGen Ride-a-Thon raises $3,700 for Ride for The Shelter
Thank you to the NextGen Committee and Time Trial Cycle for hosting a Ride-a-Thon, Saturday, April 2, to benefit Ride for The Shelter.
Held at Time Trial Cycle, the Ride-a-Thon drew participation from 25 cyclists and raised over $3,700. Ride for The Shelter “Spokes’men” Colin Estrem, Gordon Kellam and Glen Schwesinger were on hand to join the effort and cheer on the other participants. NextGen Co-chair Dave Anderson had the most energy points.
The Shelter is grateful to Time Trial Cycle, which donated an hour cycling class led by Charla Goodnight, owner of Time Trial Cycle. In addition to donating studio time and instruction, Time Trial presented Ride for The Shelter with a check for $500.
On Saturday, April 16, 2016, Colin, Gordon and Glen will embark on a 1,256-mile bicycle ride from Naples to the Nation’s Capitol, where they will meet with elected officials to discuss The Shelter’s Gentle’men Against Domestic Violence® (GADV) initiative. GADV calls on men to stand with women as equal partners to end domestic violence.
