Mending Broken Hearts with Hope

Jim and Nichole Schmidt, the mother and stepfather of Gabby Petito, delivered a powerful and deeply personal message at the 26th Mending Broken Hearts with Hope Luncheon hosted by The Shelter for Abused Women & Children on Feb. 20, at The Ritz-Carlton, Tiburón. Since 2021, the Schmidts have transformed unimaginable grief into advocacy, co-founding the Gabby Petito Foundation to support domestic violence survivors and families of missing loved ones. Their participation in this year’s luncheon helped raise vital funds for The Shelter’s lifesaving services, which provide safety, support, and hope to survivors of abuse.
