In Celebration of You Day in Naples and Immokalee

The women we serve each day at The Shelter are not defined by the circumstances they find themselves in or the challenges they are confronting. They are mothers, daughters, sisters, students and colleagues with their own unique dreams and life goals, many of which had been left behind due to partner violence and abuse.

To celebrate all of these amazing women, The Shelter held In Celebration of You Day, May 4, in place of our traditional Mother’s Day dinner. Emergency shelter participants at both shelters and Transitional Living residents all received a new outfit, hairstyling and makeup, gifts and an amazing dinner served by The Shelter Guild. While the ladies enjoyed dinner, their children attended a pizza party and created gifts for their moms. Thank you to all for making possible this wonderful evening of love!

Because of your support, The Shelter is here to give hope to hundreds of women and their children. As they have been for nearly three decades, The Shelter’s doors are wide open and so too, are our hearts. This weekend, we will join you in remembering and recognizing all women — who are much more than they may realize. Happy Mother’s Day!
