Back-to-School Fund Drive replaces supply drive this year

As August approaches, there has never been a more uncertain time for parents of school-aged children, especially those impacted by domestic violence. The Coronavirus has created uncertainty and future school procedures have yet to be finalized by national, state and local leaders.

Although we do not know exactly what the 2020-21 school year will bring, we do know The Shelter’s parents and their children will need to be prepared for anything. Because of these unknowns, we are hosting a Back-to-School Fund Drive in place of the traditional supply drive we normally undertake. These funds will allow us to purchase the specific educational items parents will need to help their child succeed, regardless of the format of schooling. Any funding beyond these educational needs will be used for operating to support educational activities for our families.

We hope that you will once again support The Shelter’s parents and children, many of whom will be attending school for the very first time.
