The Shelter was recently awarded $13,000 from The League Club during an emotional presentation celebration that was two years in the making. The Shelter was among 27 nonprofits in Collier and Lee Counties to receive the grants, which are dedicated to crucial recovery needs from the severe impact of COVID-19 on mental health issues in the areas of health, education, the arts, and our environment.

President Melissa McClayton said, “The heart and soul of The League Club is our Community Involvement Committee.  For over three decades they have addressed critical needs of at risk adults and children in the areas of food scarcity, shelter, education, and the arts through grants to nonprofit agencies in Collier and Lee  Counties.”

“The CIC will continue to direct our resources to programs as they pertain to crucial recovery needs resulting from COVID-19.  This year,  special consideration was given to projects addressing mental health issues created by COVID,” said Constance Godley,  TLC Community VP.
