Wade Williams honored as Law Enforcement Officer of the Year during the Florida Human Trafficking Summit

The Shelter salutes Sgt. Wade Williams of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office Human Trafficking Division, who was honored as Law Enforcement Officer of the Year during the Human Trafficking Summit, Sept. 30, in Orlando. Attending the summit for The Shelter were CEO Linda Oberhaus and Alina Donahue, State Attorney’s Office Advocate.

Sponsored by Attorney General Ashley Moody, the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, the Florida Department of Children and Families and the University of Central Florida, the goal of the summit is to bring together local, state, and national leaders working to eradicate all forms of trafficking. Throughout the day, attendees participate in targeted breakout sessions covering:

  • legal/law enforcement
  • service delivery
  • policy and research
  • medical/healthcare
