Under the theme, “Celebrating Service” The Shelter for Abused Women & Children honored its dedicated volunteers, March 29, with a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at Kensington Country Club.

Andy Davis was honored as Volunteer of the Year. Davis gives hundreds of hours to The Shelter each year, packing, setting up and cleaning up after fundraising events; volunteering at both shelters in Naples and Immokalee, securing and assembling bicycles for Shelter participants, and much more. He serves on The Shelter’s Gentle’men Against Domestic Violence Committee and participates in The Shelter’s men’s activities including the Annual GADV event, Take A Stand, and 250 Men & More.

Other Outstanding Shelter volunteers for 2021-22 included:

After a two-year hiatus due to Covid, Shelter CEO Linda Oberhaus welcomed attendees to the luncheon, stating, “It is so very special to be able to gather together again to celebrate our amazing volunteers. Without your help, The Shelter would not be able to further its mission to prevent, protect and prevail over domestic violence and human trafficking.”
