The Shelter’s Economic Empowerment program empowers survivors to gain financial stability, secure
employment, pursue higher education, find affordable housing, develop a budget and improve their credit scores.

Through our nine Transitional Living cottages, survivors receive up to 24 months of housing and an array of
supportive services. Participants’ goals typically include increasing income, decreasing public assistance,
and developing skills and abilities to support themselves and secure permanent violence-free housing. Land
is currently available for one more cottage in Naples and a future Transitional Living Program is planned for
        Immokalee.

New to The Shelter this year is the Rapid Re-housing Program, which provides short-term rental assistance to
help people obtain housing quickly and increase their abillity to stay housed. Through this program, The Shelter
provided over 1,500 nights of housing to women and their children.
