Domestic violence homicide impacts hundreds of lives in Collier County and the safety of our community
as a whole. By working pro-actively with partner agencies, The Shelter helps survivors find their way to
safety before serious physical injury or death.
Through InVEST (Intimate Violence Enhanced Services Team), Shelter advocates review thousands of
crime reports to identify and contact victims in potentially lethal situations. Advocates are also
co-located with the State Attorney’s Office and Collier Clerk of Courts Office to provide immediate
information and assistance to individuals impacted by domestic violence and human trafficking.
The Shelter’s staff attorney provides survivors with invaluable legal assistance in securing injunctions for
protection and court representation to navigate the legal system and hold abusers accountable in court.
