YOUR IMPACT TODAY CREATES A
WORLD OF HOPE FOR TOMORROW
Individually, we are one drop of water; together we are an ocean. Each day
at The Shelter, your involvement impacts survivors through emergency shelter,
transitional living, financial empowerment, prevention programs, child care, pet
care, and so much more. Like a drop of water in an ocean of need, your support
creates widening ripples of opportunity for so many.
The dictionary offers two definitions for the word impact: “The action of one
object coming forcibly into contact with another” and “To have a strong effect on
someone or something.” For most survivors, the first of these two definitions is a
debilitating reality as they seek refuge from a force that is causing so much pain
and suffering in their lives. Through your support, survivors come to realize the
second definition of impact - that they have a strong effect on their own life and the
lives of others.
This year, The Shelter Options Shoppe celebrated 25 years of service with a
Grand Re-opening and a number of physical and operational improvements. The
Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce honored The Shelter with the Heart of
the Community Award. For the seventh consecutive year, The Shelter received a
4-Star rating from Charity Navigator, an accomplishment attained by only 4% of
charities in the nation.
Much has been accomplished, but a river of opportunity lies ahead. As we
move forward with a capital campaign to build the Shelly Stayer Shelter
in Immokalee, together, we have the opportunity to impact many more
survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. You can learn
more about these opportunities in this report.
Please know the impact you make today is creating a world of hope
and healing for families in our community tomorrow.
