Watching the new Immokalee shelter rise from the ground has
been an amazing experience. Our builder has done a phenomenal
job keeping this project on track and we eagerly anticipate a Grand
Opening celebration this spring.
Each day, we rise to new challenges and opportunities. For most
of us, the challenges will be kept in check and, like the work of the
builder mentioned above, we will grasp opportunities to keep our
lives on track. Unfortunately, for survivors of violence and abuse,
the challenges can be so overwhelming, they are unable to see
any hope of getting their lives on track.
Because of you, The Shelter provides the tools necessary
to rebuild lives devastated by domestic violence and human
trafficking. These tools empower survivors to tear down walls
of pain and construct new lives with an ‘open concept’ in
which they can grow and thrive.
No matter the extent of the renovation, every life changed
is a Grand Opening! Stories and comments from some of
these changed lives are included in this impact report.
As you will see, much has been accomplished this year,
but much lies ahead. With your support, we will rise
to the challenge of operating a second shelter and
embrace the opportunity to impact social change for
generations to come!
As individuals, we can each take a stand against
domestic violence and human trafficking, but
together WE RISE!
