Susan Spry

CHIEF PROGRAMS OFFICER

Susan Spry, Chief Program Officer, joined The Shelter for Abused Women & Children in July 2024.  Susan comes as a senior leader with years of US and international experience leading organizations, programs, and people.  She holds degrees in International Studies, Business, and Education Administration, which she has used in education, nonprofit, and government programs nationally and internationally.

Locally, Susan served as the executive director of Literacy Volunteers of Collier County and worked for Collier County Schools.  Internationally, she has worked primarily in the Middle East as a dean at women’s colleges and with US government education/training programs as program manager and advisor.  Her work has often been with traumatized women and children either from domestic violence or in conflict zones such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen.

She is experienced in aligning programs to meet changing needs and initiating new and effective programs to better serve participants. Susan looks forward to bringing her experience and expertise to enhance the services and programs offered by The Shelter.
