Following their April 11, 2016 meeting, Shelter Trustees gathered to honor long-time Shelter supporter Sue Murray, with a plaque near the Butterfly Tribute Bench at the entrance to The Shelter.

Also on hand was Sue’s husband, Ken, who cut the purple ribbon honoring Sue’s memory. Sue, a former school teacher, passed away August 7, 2015. She is remembered as a person who showed genuine interest in everyone she met, finding each person’s unique story and gifts. She was generous of her time and love, and unstoppable in her resolve to help those around her, including survivors of domestic violence through her long-time support at The Shelter.

“Sue had a profound effect on The Shelter and the path we have been able to take,” said Shelter Executive Director Linda Oberhaus.
