Traditional Shelter Guild Membership
Requirements and Responsibilities
Initial Responsibilities:
- Complete the membership form in its entirety, provide a photograph of yourself and submit payment for Shelter Guild dues
- Membership dues are $400 annually (due by October 31) and include your reservation to attend the annual Mending Broken Hearts Luncheon or biennial Bags & Bow Ties auction and cocktail reception
- If you are unable to attend the event(s), your dues of $400 will be a donation to The Shelter
- Take a tour of The Shelter and a tour of The Shelter Options Shoppe
- Select one or more committees on which to serve
- Attend at least two of the three annual Shelter Guild meetings held between November and April each year
As a Guild member, we encourage you to:
- Serve as a Community Liaison for The Shelter’ and promote The Shelter’s mission of leading and collaborating with the community to Prevent, Protect and Prevail over domestic violence and human trafficking through advocacy, empowerment and social change
- Spread the word about The Shelter Options Shoppe and how critical it is to the work of The Shelter
- Donate and encourage friends to donate clothing, furniture and household accessories to The Shelter Options Shoppe
- Volunteer to assist at the annual Mending Broken Hearts with Hope Luncheon and the Bags & Bow Ties auction and cocktail reception
Benefits of Membership:
- The joy of joining with others to help realize the vision of The Shelter – We envision a community free from domestic violence and human trafficking where individuals and families can live in safety and peace.
- The fulfillment of working with others whose hearts have been touched by the great need in our community to mend the broken hearts of women and children.
- Special communications and event invitations from The Shelter.
- Socializing among our talented and interesting membership.
We invite you to join The Shelter Guild and “make a connection.” We will work with you to match your time, interests and talents to help you “connect” to the mission and needs of The Shelter. Please complete the enclosed application and confidentiality agreement and send in following the instructions on the application. Our communication is most efficient and effective using e-mail. Please be sure to include your email address on the application. All communication regarding meetings and events will be provided to you through The Shelter Guild E-Newsletter and E-Newsgram sent to your e-mail address.

Junior Shelter Guild Membership

- Membership dues are $200 annually (due by October 31)
- Take a tour of The Shelter and a tour of The Shelter Options Shoppe
- Select one or more committees on which to serve
- Attend at least two of the three annual Shelter Guild meetings held between November and April each year
