Program Overview
Legal services are often first line of defense for victims of domestic violence and are one of our most requested services. The majority of the survivors we serve have complex legal issues. Resolving the civil legal issues that are directly related to domestic violence empowers victims to rebuild their lives. Ultimately, our innovative services create a safer community—one that meets the challenging needs of victims of domestic violence with the compassion and swiftness necessary to ensure justice. Strengthening civil legal assistance for victims of domestic abuse, through innovative, collaborative programs that reach more battered women on a broader range of issues, than are typically addressed is crucial to The Shelter achieving its mission.
