Hurricane Ian’s impact on The Shelter
Our hearts go out to the families, organizations and businesses impacted by the destruction of Hurricane Ian. Here at The Shelter, we are grateful to report that all of our staff and shelter residents are safe and sound.
While we remain open and serving victims and families, both emergency shelters sustained physical damage that requires immediate attention. One of our transitional living cottages, built prior to hurricane codes, will need a major restoration before it can once again shelter a family.
Our biggest challenge is damage to The Shelter Option’s Shoppe in downtown Naples. The store is currently closed and we are working diligently to get it back up and running. Options plays a vital role in funding for The Shelter to ensure our services are available free of charge.
If you would like to help, our greatest need at this time is financial support. CLICK HERE to make a gift or go to naplesshelter.org.
Hurricane Ian took a heavy toll on Southwest Florida, but together we will rebuild a stronger, safer community for generations to come. Thank you for your support
