GADV raises awareness in Washington, DC!

On Wednesday, April 27, The Shelter’s GADV Spokes’men made it to Washington DC by bicycle, logging over 1,200 miles in 12 days to raise awareness for the GADV initiative. While in Washington, they met with Congressmen Mario Diaz-Balart and Curt Clawson, Senator Bill Nelson staff, and Caroline Bettinger-Lopez, White House Advisor on Violence Against Women.

On April 26, 2016, Florida Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart made a floor statement recognizing GADV and officially entering the initiative into the Congressional Record. Congratulations to Colin Estrem, Gordon Kellam and Glen Schwesinger.
