History:

The NextGen Committee was formed in 2012 to cultivate a next generation of support to provide increased awareness, sustainability and leadership succession for The Shelter.

Committee Members:

  • Serve as “Ambassadors for The Shelter” in its efforts to educate the community about eliminating domestic violence.
  • Volunteer time and efforts for NextGen events:
    • Back to School Supplies Drive (held in August)
    • The Purple Party (held in October)
    • Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays (held in December)
    • Naples Christmas Parade (held in December)
    • Other events are organized throughout the year
  • Serve on a committee:
    • Events & Marketing, Membership & Communications.
  • Generate sponsorships for NextGen fundraising events.
  • Invite candidates to join the NextGen Committee and recruit a minimum of one member annually.

New Member Process:

  • Complete the membership form and submit bio with a headshot.
  • Shelter Orientation:
    • Take a tour of The Shelter.
    • Membership packet.
    • Visit Options Thrift Shoppe, 968 2nd N., Naples.
    • Select one or more committees on which to serve.
  • Attend Core Competency Training (Optional).

Meetings:

Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
